ConclusionRights and responsibilities in a perfect world should align and balance. The Soviet Union under Stalin shows how unbalanced the two can be. In this case, the presumed responsibility of the government overshadowed everything else to the point where all rights of the people were ignored. Because Stalin was obsessed with the idea of creating the ideal Communist society, he forgot the reason communism was created - in the search to ensure a more fair society. Instead, all Stalin ensured was a puppet, government-controlled populace, deprived of their individual rights.
