ImpactAfter Stalin’s death, the Iron Curtain weakened and the Soviet Union finally fell in 1991. Though recently the government has been pushing a more positive image of Stalin, a majority of Russian citizens still believe he had a negative impact on society. The percentage of Russians who view Stalin’s impact as “definitely positive” has dropped from 18 to 9% over the past 10 years according to a poll by the Levada Center.
